I bring to you a landlady with a big mouth and a real fanatic about the Great British Pub.
As a British woman I have found my home within independent pub life. Im appalled that the Government have been hell bent on breaking us. Every Budget hammers nails in a nearly un-openable coffin.
Mission ‘Destroy the pubs’ appears to be having great success.
The nation and our Publicans have been led to believe that pubs are simply failing because their ‘old hat’; but are they ‘old hat’ or are they simply being forced to be ‘old hat’?
Publicans up and down the country have successfully adapted to the changes in trends; food offerings.. live sports…entertainment. Breweries and Distillers have jumped on board with non-alcoholic beers and spirits; an area of the market which is growing well.
So what happened? Why are we losing our pubs at a rapid rate?
Well, aside from the obvious economic pressures affecting the population and business, the Government want us to believe the pubs ‘are old hat’ to hide their underlying Anti-British rhetoric.
Slowly but surely the State is infiltrating into every aspect of our culture and identity and punishing us for pushing back. They have cleverly corned the pubs into being the anti-christ to the state; the hub of unmonitored conversation; and successfully chipping away at our exsistence through punitive economic measures and wilful ignorance.
And I’ve simply had enough.
So here’s my thoughts on everything pubs, society and life.
